About
Lina Killinger’s artistic practice explores the material and perceptual qualities of color at the intersection of painterly inquiry and scientific observation. Since her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 2019, she has focused on gradients, dissolution, and transformation, investigating how color behaves as both substance and phenomenon.
Through glassblowing and time-based observation, she examines how pigments dissolve, diffuse, and interact in water. By enclosing liquid color within mouth-blown glass, she suspends its natural tendency to evaporate or flatten, preserving it in a state between movement and stillness.
In her studio, Lina Killinger investigates how materials transform and how these transformations become perceptible, creating works that exist between control and chance, solidity and liquidity.
